CAPI Visual Identity (2025)

I served as the lead designer for this visual identity project for CAPI (Communities Advancing Prosperity for Immigrants), a nonprofit supporting immigrant communities. I designed a logo that reflects the organization’s mission of heritage, growth, and opportunity. Inspired by cultural textiles and the form of a seed, its radial arrangement references traditional patterns across global immigrant communities. The central golden circle symbolizes shared purpose, while the surrounding petal- and seed-like shapes convey collective growth and harmony. The resulting identity communicates inclusivity, optimism, and continuity, providing a culturally resonant representation of CAPI’s work.
Process Work
CAPI sought a logo that would feel culturally relevant to the communities they serve. Early explorations referenced their previous globe-based logo, as well as concepts incorporating waves to convey movement and allude to immigration. Through several iterations, the design evolved toward a concept inspired by cultural textiles and the form of seeds, emphasizing heritage, growth, and renewal. This approach allowed the final logo to honor the diversity of CAPI’s communities while conveying a sense of collective growth, continuity, and opportunity.
